The CDL test in North Carolina has 50 questions. You must successfully
answer at least 40 questions (80%) in order to pass. The
North Carolina CDL Handbook's topics are covered by the general
knowledge test. The following areas must be thoroughly studied by
all Class A, B, and C CDL applicants: Hazmat & Passenger Vehicles,
Air Brakes (if you intend to drive a vehicle with air brakes),
